To back up their claim to the territory, the Abbey Neustadt founded in 1260 the provost Einsiedel middle in the Spessart Hafenlohrtal. In 1483, the provost was dissolved and leased out. The result was a glass factory in the 19th century. Princess Sophie built the neo-Gothic chapel seen here. It stands above Einsiedel and fell over time into oblivion.
