Harbor Line (Hamasen)
Kaohsiung

In 1908, Japanese built the coastal railway—“Harbor Line”, or “Hamasen” in Japanese pronunciation. This railway area was in fact a tidal land, and was located in the transportation pivot of both the railway and the harbor. Therefore, this area not only had a highly developed fishery, but was also the political and economic center at that time.

Nowadays, thanks to the community empowerment, revitalization of historical sites, and MRT system, the Hamasen with a nostalgic atmosphere has become splendid again.
