Bordj Moussa Fort
Algeria

This fort was built in the sixteenth century during the Spanish occupation at the site of the Palais de l'Etoile built under the Hammadite era. Sixteenth century to nineteenth century, it was under Ottoman Turkish control and then taken by the French who named it "Fort Barral."

Commonly called Bordj Moussa tribute to the first martyr who faced the Spanish incursion, the fort was refurbished and houses a museum.
