Cathedral of Evora, main facade
Portugal

The facade of the cathedral is flanked by two towers, both from the medieval period, the tower on the south side being the bell tower of the cathedral, whose bells for centuries have marked the passing of the city's hours. Flanking the portal are superb 14th-century sculptures of Apostles (ten of which were attributed to Mestre Pero. The most emblematic architectural section from the outside is the dome, the lantern tower of the naves cruise erected during the reign of D. Dinis, which is the ex-libris of the cathedral and one of the best-known sections of the city In addition to the main portico there are two more entrances: the Porta do Sol, facing south, with Gothic arches and the Porta Norte, rebuilt in the Baroque period.
