Heddal stave church 2010
Norway

In the east of the province of Telemark directly on the European road E 134 stands Norway's largest stave church. Owing to their impressive size (20 Meter long x 26 Meter high) and the playful roof architecture Heddal Stave Church is also called wooden Gothic cathedral. The three-nave church with a raised center area rests on twelve supporting masts. The church was built of resinous pine.
