Oudegracht
Utrecht

The Oudegracht (lit. Old Canal) is the oldest canal in the centre of Utrecht. It is about 2 kilometers long. The warves with their cellars underneath the streets are a unique feature of the canals of Utrecht. They were created after the drop of the water level in the year 1122 when the Kromme Rijn was cut of from the Rhine in Wijk bij Duurstede.
