Puente La Reina - Bridge over the Arga
Northern Spain

Not far away from Puente la Reina the two pilgrimage routes of the Way of St. James unite into one. These are the French and Aragonese ways. The combined route then crosses the Arga river over this bridge. Puente la Reina litterally means "The Queen´s Bridge" and refers to the bridge crossing the river. The bridge was donated by Dona Mayor the wife of King Sancho III in the 11th century. The town was then named after her.
