Russel : Kororeka Bay
Northland

Kororareka Bay, also known as the Bay of Islands, is a large bay located in the Northland region of New Zealand, near the town of Russell. The bay is known for its crystal clear waters, sandy beaches, and stunning natural beauty, and it's a popular destination for boating, fishing, and other water activities.


It has a rich history, and it was an important location for both Māori and European settlers. In the 19th century, was a major port for whaling and trading, and it was also the site of significant conflict between Māori and European settlers.

Today, Kororareka Bay is a popular tourist destination, known for its natural beauty, historic sites, and recreational opportunities. Some popular attractions in the area include the Waitangi Treaty Grounds, the Pompallier Mission, and the many islands that dot the bay.
