Temple St. Tzar Boris-Michael Baptizer

This is an Orthodox temple in "Ovcha Kupel" district of Sofia. The church has the name of the historical Bulgarian monarch Boris who was baptized with his entire family. At baptism he took the name of the Byzantine Emperor - Michael. In 865 all Bulgarians were baptized in Christian faith. Tzar Boris took the teachings of Jesus with all his heart and earnestly followed it in his personal life. He was entirely devoted to the Christian faith and for this reason he even resigned from the throne in order to become a monk, leaving the scepter of power in the hands of his son.
