王克庆是我国雕塑大家，几十年来，他对雕塑事业孜孜以求，留下了许多宝贵的艺术资源和丰厚的艺术财富。王克庆曾在长春工作多年，也因此和长春结下深厚情意。他将自己的许多重要雕塑作品捐赠给了长春。 “王克庆艺术博物馆”共收藏雕塑作品76件、绘画作品30余幅，这些作品全面展示了王克庆的艺术成就。一并展出的还有他的夫人、著名版画家顾同奋女士的绘画作品。部分雕塑作品以及全部绘画作品、手稿都是第一次向公众展出。
雕塑是长春的一张名片，“王克庆艺术博物馆”的建成，为雕塑公园又增添一抹亮丽的色彩。市长崔杰用“今天是一个历史性的日子”来形容“王克庆艺术博物馆开馆”对长春雕塑文化建设的重要意义。崔杰说，王克庆艺术博物馆在长春开馆，王老师一生极其珍贵的手稿作品，永久性地在长春珍藏，我认为这是王老、顾老对我们城市的莫大的信任，也是我们城市的巨大荣耀。人生短暂，但是艺术永恒，长春将因为永远保留王老的珍贵作品，而永远在文化史上占有重要位置。
