Varanasi holds an evening prayer ceremony each night. This aarti performance is most well-attended at the Dasaswamedh ghat. Five costumed performers synchronize their movements as they pay tribute the gods, with the help of various props -- fire, flowers, smoke, and water. Volunteers that sit near the stage are responsible for ringing bells throughout the thirty minute show.
